The Blackwood name is legendary in the gospel music industry. The Blackwood Brothers Quartet was formed in 1934. Roy Blackwood, Doyle Blackwood, their youngest brother, James, along with Roy's oldest son R.W. Blackwood, comprised the original quartet that was based out of Choctaw County, MS. The Blackwood Brothers performed at camp meetings and other church and community events throughout the 30s. In 1940, they moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, where they had a live broadcast on the radio. In 1954, they appeared on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts on CBS. They won first place and received a recording contract with RCA. They became the first gospel group to sell a million records. On June 30, 1954, the quartet loss two of it’s own as R. W. Blackwood and Bill Lyles, the bass singer, were killed in an airplane crash in Clanton, Alabama just before the Blackwoods were to perform in a concert with the Statesmen. Following the plane crash, the Blackwoods returned to the concert ministry with Cecil Blackwood singing baritone in his brother’s place and J. D. Sumner singing bas,.
DOTTIE RAMBO, undisputed queen of gospel music and internationally acclaimed recording artist, began writing songs at the age of eight, while sitting on a creek bank near her Morganfield, Kentucky home. Her talent soon received widespread recognition, resulting in many invitations to sing in churches and at various public functions. The demand became so heavy that she left home at the age of twelve to embark upon a full-time career of singing and composing music.
Other artists began to sing her songs at their performances, and many included them on their recordings. Governor Jimmie Davis of Louisiana, had his attention captured by the stirring melody and simple, but profound and inspirational lyrics, he made inquiries concerning the composer. The fact that Dottie was only a teen-ager at the time did not dissuade the governor from signing her to a writer's contract, and Dottie's professional career began to reach meteoric proportions,
So often I wonder about the passing of time, and how we, as mere mortals, observe it. When I was young, the passing of time felt very different than it does now. I used to think a week never would end. When Mom would wake my brother and me for school on Monday morning, a week seemed like a month, and I just didn’t think that Friday would ever come again. Later, after I was married and had children of my own to wake on an early Monday morning to send off to school, I had become aware of what my mother used to tell me. "The older you get Jetta", she would say as she wagged her finger, "the faster times passes." Of course, in my infinite wisdom and knowledge as a teenager, I didn’t believe a word of it. My goodness, was Mom ever right! Now that I am considerably older (never mind how much older) and my children are grown and have children to send off to school, I get up on Monday morning, turn around twice, and the week is over. I look back and think to myself, "Did I get one thing done this week I needed to, and where in the world has this week gone?” Sound familiar,

I would like to introduce you to the Relations Quartet. We are a full time Southern Gospel music ministry. We travel about 230 days a year from the east coast to the west coast and everywhere in between. Wherever the Lord sends us, we go with these thoughts in mind: to lift up the name of Jesus, to see lost souls saved, and to see other Christians touched by God.
We started over 29 years ago with four young men all related to each other, hence the name "Relations Quartet". Many faces have come and gone in that period, but we've always been "Related in Christ", so we continue to be known as the Relations Quartet. During these past 29 years, we have been blessed in a mighty way. We have had the privilege of seeing many people come to Christ, and have seen many Christians renew their commitment to the Lord,

I was raised in Texas. But did some traveling as a child. While dad was in the Military. I enjoyed going to the Gospel Shows when one was around in the East Texas woods where I learned to enjoy the gifts God gave us.
I have since married and enjoyed watching four kids grow to adults and my wife and I are now having a great time watching our five grandchildren give our grown kids some of the same teachings we recieved as young parents. Ain't God good...Same old routine, just a different generation.
Well My wife Billie and I love to go where we can and sing about how God changed our lives through the Love of His Son Jesus Christ. To tell of the Cross and our Risen Saviour.
I have recorded one album " I Believe" ( Jesus Died For Me"). In which the title song made it to number 21 in the Power Source Charts and has made it to other charts as well. What a blessing that was for me.
I have started this page because everyone says I need too. Ok, I will have another Album out by the end of Oct. I hope. Eight new songs will be introduced and yes there is one about Momma and Daddy.

THE SOUTHERN PLAINSMEN QUARTET, organized in May 1978, in the rolling pine-hills of West-Central Louisiana, and is an outreach of the SOUTHERN PLAINSMEN MINISTRIES, INC., a non-profit Christian organization. The ministry, supported by the contributions of its Christian friends, appears in Christian churches, regardless of denominational affiliation, on an expense plus love-offering basis.
The Lord has richly blessed the SOUTHERN PLAINSMEN since its meager beginnings; singing primarily in local churches at that time, the group now travels by private coach to churches and auditoriums throughout the South and, when possible, beyond. The group has had the privilege of appearing from California’s Hollywood Hills, to the Great Northwest, to the Rockies of Colorado, to the Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.MORE

He sang with a regional group in South Georgia, (Jones Family) for about 6 years.
Most folks know Charlie from his Grand Ole Gospel Reunion which is held each year, initially in Greenville, SC, and now in Knoxville, TN. This event was created to be a showcase for traditional Southern Gospel Music and has become a mega-event. As a part of this event, Charlie was the first to do a “Reunion” style video.
